Small Door has been caring for our cat for several years now. We have been at the office for well care, sick care and dental surgery. The staff has always been kind and caring to our timid senior cat. We are reassured too that we and our cat will receive the best attention. We can highly recommend them to all pet parents.

I had an extremely positive experience at my first appointment with Small Door! Dr. Waisburd was absolutely amazing with my kitten. I was blown away by how communicative she was with me, providing insight on diet, vaccinations, socialization, and more. They provided a full cost breakdown before anything was done and, when I decided to hold off until I could get more of her past medical records, they were incredibly respectful. At no point did I feel pressured to spend more money or choose a certain option over another. Additionally, you could tell everyone who worked there was an animal lover. The front desk staff asked to see my kitten in the waiting room, the vet gave her tons of love, and the nurse kept commenting on how sweet and cute she was. Truthfully, this was infinitely better than most human doctor's appointments I've been to. The cherry on top, of course, is that the space is beautiful and conveniently located, but the care was the shining star.

We needed a lot of 'all-of-a-sudden' care for our 11-year-old American Bulldog/Bull Terrier ESA, both tumor and dental issues. I can't commend enough their care, empathy, in an amazingly welcoming facility, in Brookline. Our dog is doing super-duper well now, and when we take her to SD, she has zero anxiety. Very calm, serene setting with fantastic front office and support staff.

This review is from the perspective of a first time puppy owner -

As first time puppy owners we were quite overwhelmed by the amount of different options when it came to which vet would be best for us as well as all of the different insurance options.

During our first visit Dr. Trout and all of the staff working were extremely kind and gentle which allowed our puppy to feel at ease in a new environment. Ryuji got plenty of treats and his shots and vaccines were administered quickly and expertly.

They also have an app that you can message 24/7 and the professional on the other side has access to your dogs files. We had a little scare when Ryuji started limping at 10pm but we were able to send a quick video and they assessed and gave us advice on what to do until we could bring him in the morning. The piece of mind was huge!

Thanks so much small door for taking care of Halo and I ? His appointment was amazing. I was never made to feel embarrassed for asking questions or picking the care my boy needed. Halo was super comfortable with his vet and vet tech. Everyone was super kind and we will definitely be back!

I have been coming to Small Door here in Brookline and in Newton for the last year and a half and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for my cats. We first became members for the same/next day appointment guarantee when I was desperate to get my cat in to a doctor and haven’t looked back since.

Every person who works here from virtual support, to the front desk, to the techs and doctors, is unfailingly kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. They treat my cats with the same respect and care that I do, never like they are “just animals” which I have unfortunately experienced at other vet practices. They always make sure they are comfy when we visit and are prepared with felliway towels and try to get us in the cat room early so they can explore and calm down outside of the carriers.

This past week one of my cats has faced a very serious health scare, and I was able to be seen within 2 hours of contacting SD reporting his symptoms. We were seen on time and able to immediately get blood work and X-rays done, with a quick referral to a hospital for further treatment. Once we left our doctor has been in touch regularly over the last few days with us and with the hospital where my cat is being treated. I have felt so supported in what has been an extremely difficult week, and while we are not out of the woods yet, I absolutely attribute the positive progress my cat has made the last few days to starting his care with SD and their ongoing support.

I truly cannot recommend this practice enough, and am so thankful my cats are patients here.

I am so happy that a Small Door Vet has opened so close to me in Coolidge Corner.
All of the staff are knowledgeable & helpful. My two cats are also very pleased that they don't have to go into a car to get there. They also appreciate the calmness & Cleanliness of Small Door. Highly Recommend. 🙂
